Rocco had wonderful meet and greet today with his two new flatcoat retriever family members! Petmom is an artist and paints people’s pets.
Stories of happily adopted pets
Petmom has been devastated. Her husband died of covid when it first came out. Then a while later, her dog she loved so much died of old age. She had the dog at Redbank Vet several times during the last two weeks before her death. Petmom said she laid in the crate with her when she was sick during those two weeks. She was crying so much about her dog when on the phone with us. Lucy and Petmom bonded right away. They really needed each other! Lucy’s previous petmom got sick and couldn’t care for her and was very upset. Lucy seems to know not to pull on the leash and is very in tune with her new loving Petmom!
Their hound died of old age, and petmom was crying and crying when we tried to talk about her. Petmom said she would talk to their hound all the time with any difficulties she was having. She felt she listened when other people started tuning out, LOL.
Mary Lee has a large extended family of petparents – three sons and a daughter with two dogs. Of course, with a hound, pet parents will be very careful she doesn’t dig out or over their fenced yard. They are very experienced hound dog petparents.
Camelian, the tan boy with petmom and Charlie Brown played happily together when they met. Petmom wanted Charlie Brown to have a playmate his same size because he goes to doggie daycare and loves to be with other dogs. Camelian is 1 year old and only 33 lbs. He is playful, sweet and gets along with kids and other dogs. He loves to play and chew on his chew toys. He would be a great hiking or jogging buddy too. He is house trained and doing well in the crate. He just loves attention and to be with his person.
Petparents had a beloved large chocolate lab that died of old age, and they miss him terribly. After a while of mourning, they opened their hearts and seaside home to Astra. Astra now lives with a cat too. She was cat friendly in the past. Her pet parent died suddenly in the past and it is wonderful seeing her happy again. When her middle-aged pet parent died, his 20-year-old daughter tried to take care of three of his dogs but has five of her own. Astra is a sweet 2-year-old and 58 lb. girl. She is very playful and has that loving lab personality. She gets along great with other dogs, kids and even cats. She loves to go on long walks and sit with you on the couch. She loves the water and to swim in the pool and run in a fenced yard.
We are more than thrilled that Little Miss is happy in her new home! She wouldn’t eat for a few days when she first arrived to us, being upset that her pet dad who loved her very much suddenly died. Little Miss is such a beauty. She is one year old and 50 lbs. She is very sweet and loving. She does love attention and isn’t really a walker but will snuggle on the couch with you. She loves water and to swim in a pool.
